I fixed my window!

The part finally came in. Oh wait — no it didn’t. The parts company screwed me by not sending the regulator along with the lift motor. Yeah — even though their website clearly states “Including Regulator”. Anyway, I took my window apart and fixed it with a $1.30 part from Lowes by drilling some holes and spending many hours getting it all lined up. But I did it! I was proud. As for the lift motor — it’s going back to the stupid parts place along with a message to the Better Business Bureau.
UPDATE: The wheel gear inside the regulator apparently gave out. I knew it wouldn’t last long, but after about 2 weeks it bit the dust. My fix is still holding, but the wheel won’t turn because of the grooves (or lack thereof), so I’ve ordered a new regulator. Hope it comes in soon!
UPDATE #2: Just wanted to reference the followup post that I detail exactly how to fix this problem. Several weeks and still working great!
