Heart Problems

So I haven’t been doing the best in the world lately. The past few weeks, I’ve been having a few “episodes”, which I thought were panic attacks — racing heart, shortness of breath, anxiety, etc. Well, now I’ve been to my doctor and now a cardiologist, and apparently no one thinks they were panic attacks. Apparently, my mitral valve prolapse & tachycardia are finally giving me enough problems to warrant some medication. I’m on a beta blocker now (fun), but it seems to be lowering my BP and pulse, so that’s good.

Monday, I actually had to go to Memorial Hermann Outpatient Center in The Woodlands to have a Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) since they couldn’t get a decent image from a normal echo. It wasn’t fun, but after they knocked me out, I don’t remember much. Doc says he didn’t see any other abnormalities at first glance so that is good news. I have an appt next week, maybe I’ll know more then.
